# Can you crack Lori’s eggs?

Hi miss,I’ve got a question about how many eggs I got over the weekend.

A family of 5 got 17 eggs over the weekend. The next day,they all wanted 3 eggs each but they could only use the eggs that they got. The eggs were carried in egg boxes with 6 egg spaces in them.
1star-How many eggs would be left over if they had 3 eggs each?
2star-How many egg boxes would the family need to carry all the eggs in?
3star-if one of the family members wanted toast instead of egg, could the other 4 family members have one more each? Explain your answer.

1. Faith says:

You would need 3boxes and you would have one spear gap because if you count up the close is 18and you have 17eggs

2. Samantha Moore says:

1=2
2=3
3=Yes because if one family member gave his 3 eggs up there would be 5 left over which means each family member could have one more left
Lori I have a question for you if your dad wanted scrambled egg on toast which took 2 eggs could the other 4 still have another egg each?

3. Lori says:

Hi faith, you got the 2 starquestion right but have another look at the 1 star.

4. Lori says:

Hi samantha, you got all of the answers right and no because if if they all had 3 that would be 15 eggs used and because my dad only used 2 eggs, we would’ve used 14 eggs and there are 17 eggs altogether so if the other 4 members had another egg, we would need 18 eggs but we have only got 17 eggs.
