# Area of compound shapes

I’ve found quite a simple game that might help before things get a bit tricky with finding the area of compound shapes. Have a go here and let us know what you thought: helpful? easy? challenging?

Do try to resist the urge to just count squares: that won’t really help you to further your understanding!! πŸ˜‰

What does urge mean Mrs Larkin

1. Mrs Larkin says:

When you really want to do something. What I meant was, even if you’re tempted to take the easy option of counting squares, try not to πŸ™‚

Hi Mrs Larkin,
this game is easy and I love it when you put games on. My mum got the estimate so close because she said 23 but the right answer was 24
