This week in our topic lesson, we have been looking at some key words to do with the weather such as; precipitation, visibility, temperature and sunshine. I would like you to look at a weather report, google weather in the UK, and see if you can see any of these words or others from our topic lesson.

In our knowledge lessons, we have looked at 10 European flags, 10 European landmarks and now we are looking at 10 European dishes! Can you remember any famous landmarks, dishes or the colours on any flags?
In maths this week, we have been looking at fractions and we have learnt some new vocabulary; numerator, denominator, equal to. We even wow-ed Mr Abbott with our fraction knowledge. Well done!

In our maths this week, we will be ordering and comparing 3 digit numbers. Here are some questions to get your brain working.
Can you make some 3 digit numbers using these number cards and then put them in order of size?

I must say Y3, I have had a wonderful week with you all. I have ended each day with a smile on my face because you have all shown me how hard you can work and how good your behaviour can be. Well done.
Lots of things are different in key stage two, and it might take us a while to get used to how things work, but you are already on the right tracks. I know that you must feel very grown up with your new reading records and target books and I am already seeing good work in these.

Wow, I can’t believe that it is nearly the end of another year.
I have been thinking about all the fun that we have had and all of the learning that has taken place. We have looked at three topics in history and geography; Ancient Egyptians, Brazil and the Stone Age.
Can you tell me one fact that you will remember forever from each topic?
We are nearly at the end of the school year, but the hard work isn’t over just yet.

This week in our maths sessions, we will be looking at 3D shapes.
Some of this week will be a recap of some vocabulary you already know like faces, edges and vertices. We will also be looking at naming those shapes we already know. Look at the shapes below. Can you tell me how many faces, edges and vertices some of these have?
However after this recap, we will actually be BUILDING our own 3D shapes using modelling materials. This is going to be a great week of hands on maths.
