Practice makes perfect.

Our Learn Its for next week are:

7 x 3 = 21

8 x 3 = 24

9 x 3 = 27

10 x 3 = 30

If you are very confident with these Learn Its, can you set me a word problem challenge?

We now have a ‘Problem of the Week’ in our classroom and it is up and running for your answers. Can you think about this question and post your answer in the box next week?

“Think of as many numbers as you can which are in the 3, 5 and 10 times table. Write these on a post-it note and pop in the box”

Have a lovely weekend, I cannot wait to hear what you all got up to on Monday morning.

We are the champions!

First of all, a huge well done to Y3 on winning the trophy this week for attendance. Lets hope that we can keep the trophy for a second week.

Once again it has been a fun-filled week with lots of learning in English, Maths and Topic. We have managed to come up with some new characters for our ‘Tiger Dead! Tiger Dead!’ story and are thinking of a new setting and a new plan. We also enjoyed our handwriting lesson because we used the sentence ‘The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog’. What is special about this sentence?

Your new Learn Its for next week are:

4 x 3 = 12

5 x 3 = 15

6 x 3 = 18

7 x 3 = 21

Please practice these over the weekend. If you know that 6 x 3 = 18 then what is 6 x 30? Explain how you would know the answer.

Have a relaxing weekend, but not too relaxing that you forget to come to school on Monday. We need that attendance trophy again!

Welcome to Year 3!

What a fantastic week in Year 3.

We have all been learning about our new teachers,  the routines in Key Stage 2, earning raffle tickets for our good work and behaviour and of course having lots of fun! We have written a recount of our favourite summer memory,  started our English work and are enjoying the story ‘Tiger Dead! Tiger Dead!’ We also introduced our topic of Healthy Eating and Teeth. In our topic launch, we welcomed parents into our class and worked together to design a healthy meal and answer some questions about teeth.

Our Learn Its for next week are:

1 x 3 = 3

2 x 3 = 6

3 x 3 = 9

Perhaps you could write your favourite memory from this week on our class blog. Don’t forget to share your learning with a grown-up. Below are some pictures from our Cheerleading session and designing our healthy meal. Could you create your own cheerleading routine at home?
