  2. This a map that has been past down generations from the pirates, it now belongs to me and I intend to use it … “Hallie are you insane?”said Alex shocked “it will be an adventure!” Gale exclaimed . Gale is a 12 year old boy :who loves adventures and fun. Alex on the other hand is more relaxed: she just turned 13 she loves reading. These are my best friends every spring break we go on a trip this year we suggested India but since this is a map of Hawaii we are going there. Finally we arrived at Hawaii being the eager person I am I grabbed Alex and Gale and ran to the beach we couldn’t find a thing (not an X in sight). The next day we went on a morning stroll “it’s there it’s there” I screamed with joy ” look the two palm trees are making a cross, ” we dug and dug until we heard something. And with some help we pulled out a great, big treasure chest full of the finest riches the eye could see we counted up there was an amount of 4000 pounds. We split it three ways and gave the remaining 1000 to charity and that is what I did this summer. by Hallie Smith

    1. I really like the part where it says being the eager person I am but try to remember new speaker new line for next time

  3. What should I do?
Yesterday, I was digging with a friend when we found a dirty what we think is a 16th-17th century map that looked like it was from the pirate era. We fought over who was going to have it but I found it and I intend to use it…
Today, I was wondering were this lead to. I did lots of research but maps modernise since then. It was on parchment paper and it had a big X marks the spot. A few minutes after researching, I found that one road was the exact same. I ran as quick but as carefully as I could to my friend’s house to tell her the amazing news that we might solve the X marks the spot mystery- which almost seemed impossible. I got to Mary’s (my friend’s) front door she opened it and I burst with excitement, ” Mary Mary I’ve found a road that is the same as today so I think we can figure out where the treasure is.” Mary replied ” Oh my word come lets go now.”
We then got all our gear on and went on the search to find what was the X mark the spot meant. So we started looking for places it might be but we found things like golf clubs, glasses, watches and much more. It was becoming nearly the end of the day and we were about to give up when they found two branches making a cross and it took Mary’s eye. Mary screamed, “Eve look a cross lets dig it up it’s worth a try then we’ll go home.” So we dug it up and the results were mind blowing!
There was an old wooden chest but it needed a key we kept digging to find a key and we found it. We unlocked the chest to find: gold -2oz; money and a map we wanted to find what the next map was for but that’s for another time.

  4. Well that was a waste of time!

Almost 1000 years ago today, there was a greedy pirate his name was Gary and most commonly known as Greedy Gary… He ruled the roost and when he didn’t get his own way it would be like WW3. But one day he was on his priceless ship ,which he stole, and was admiring his map which showed where his treasure laid. But then he washed it down with sea water but he dropped it and he went loopy! He screamed. A while after his temper tantrum he obviously intended to blame it on his innocent slaves so the one closest to them got to walk the plank. But then, just a few centuries later when I was only 5 years old, I was playing in the sea with my older brother -Jack- then you wont believe what happened! I found a treasure map right under my tiny little chin! I never told my parents about this but now, just 5 years later, I intend to use it… Since it was 1000 years ago, it looked a little beaten up but I still want to see which treasure lies behind it. As days turn into weeks and weeks turn into months and as months turn into years, I research and research to find out more and it was written by the so called Greedy Gary! He lived in Belfast, just like me! so I read the map and it said… Go over the tiny plants, there you’ll see some little ants Then walk right there you’ll see some things that bite Dig, dig, dig, a couple feet And there is where you will meet. The next day I followed the map and dug for 3 hours straight! “ooohhh this will never work!” I commented doubtfully until… *BANG!*
“What’s that!?” I shouted. And there it was, the real treasure! I opened it with faithfulness that it would be expensive belongings! Then I opened it and… wait… what’s this? Inside was just a lot of old money! “Well this is no good now is it!” I said to myself,
“Well I guess people would die for it back then, wouldn’t they?” I mumbled. After that I decided to have some family time for a bit.
“Well I’m never doing that again… even though it was pretty cool!” I mumbled to myself. After that, I went to play in the water and saw another map in a bottle… I just glanced at it for a second and screamed
    “Oh my goodness!… NOT AGAIN!!!!!!!”

    1. Thanks for your entry, Libbi 🙂 I can see so much of our teaching in your writing – well done! I especially liked the part where you wrote about days turning to weeks and weeks into months 😉

  5. Ages ago, there was a pirate gang who sailed across oceans stealing and finding gold. This map went through generations of evil pirates and now it is here, right in my hands! When I found it I was shocked and scared at the same time because I didn’t know if any pirates or gangs wanted to steal it. This is how the map got into my hands… 3 years ago when I was on the beach, I saw a weird green thing in the water far ahead of me. Being the little child I was, I tried to get it by using my fishing net that I tied onto a long, wooden stick, but my fishing net fell into the water and floated away! But then, I realized that the green object rested on the water and was bobbing towards me! as I picked it up, I saw that it was a bottle with a rolled up piece of paper inside!! Whilst I unrolled the paper, I saw that some parts had been worn away! I unrolled it to the shock of a treasure map, anyone could have found it but I was the one to actually find it and I intend to use it… As months passed, I kept on looking for the ancient treasure and I found it! kept on digging with my small, metal spade and there it was, a small wooden chest with a black, steel bar around it… suddenly, I saw a small key hole and thought to myself, “A key… I need a key!” how could I forget a key for a chest. To my surprise, I saw a small, golden key in the hole I had dug…The moment of truth… what is inside the chest? I open it and see lots of decrepit, fossilized coins… I thought in discomposure, “These were currency years, even centuries, ago but now they’re so old that the will be worth a fortune” that was the day I became the most overjoyed person alive… EVER.

  6. The sun was setting over the horizon and an Australian boy , named Jay , sat at the edge of a cliff, longing for adventure.”HELP! HELP!”someone cried from the depths of a cliff side cave. Finally , thought Jay , some adventure. He scanned the area but it was no use, he had to run around the perimeter to find an entrance.A glimmer of light caught his attention. Moments later he had found the source of the glimmer”An old coin?!”Jay was about to throw it into the ocean when he noticed it had strange symbols engraved into its surface. He was mesmerised by his findings. When he finally came to his senses, he continued his search for the cliff side cave.Of what seemed to be forever, he finally found the cave entrance. He slowly slipped down onto a ledge and continued his descent to the cave. But then he realised that the waves were lapping at his feet, all of a sudden he lost his grip and fell to what seemed to be his death…

“Wait, what, where am I?”Jay said slipping in and out of consciousness.
    “We are in a cave,”replied a girl.
    “Who are you?”
    “My name is Amy.”

When Amy had finished explaining how she ended up in the cave system Jay showed her the coin.”What is it?”Jay asked curiously.
    “It’s a treasure map!”gasped Amy.
“Let’s go on an adventure!”replied Jay.
“But how will we escape the cave?”
    “Well I have a plan!”

When Jay had told Amy the plan a voice called out”That won’t work!”
    “Ahhhh, Ghost!!!!!!!”Jay screamed.
There was a tense silence. All of a sudden the entrance caved in.
“Great going you idiot now were all trapped!By the way I’m Ryan.Who are you?”
“I’m Jay and this is Amy.”
